NEW YORK – A+E Networks has promoted Christopher Barry to SVP, Head of Finance, Ad Sales, Distribution, International and Digital. Barry will report to Art Vomvas, EVP, Finance and Business Planning.
In his new role, Barry will work with Ad Sales, Distribution, International and Digital divisions’ management to provide financial oversight, business planning and strategic support for growth initiatives and investments. Barry’s new role includes overall revenue planning and will combine his operational and financial experience in order to support and drive growth within A+E Networks’ business divisions.
Barry moves to his new role after serving two years as SVP, Head of Finance and Business Planning, International and Digital where he led a team responsible for financial oversight for the International and Digital divisions, including the formation of 45th & Dean, the company’s digital storytelling hub. Previously, Barry served as SVP, International Strategy and Digital Media for A+E Networks’ International division where he was responsible for the acquisition and integration of A+E Networks’ businesses in Southeast Asia, Japan, Germany and Italy along with market expansion in Canada and France.
Barry joined A+E Networks in 2012 from AMC Networks where he was Senior Vice President, Digital Media & Business Strategy, at SundanceTV overseeing digital media operations and business development activities since 2003. Prior to that, Barry worked in the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley & Co. as a Vice President in the Global Media & Communications Corporate Finance group where he provided strategic financial advisory services to cable operators and television broadcasters.
