Sydney- Network Ten’s improvised comedy Thank God You’re Here has become Australia’s No.1 podcast within days of the 2007 series launch, as measured by Apple Itunes Australia Store, podcast category. Three weeks since the series’ debut, there have been more than 50,000 podcast downloads. Fans can download from the show’s web site a selected scene each week from midnight on the night of broadcast in multiple formats: online streaming for viewing on personal computers and downloads for portable devices such as iPods and Sony PlayStation PSP. The website also has classic scenes from the first two seasons available on streaming video. TEN’s General Manager, Digital Media, Damian Smith, said: “More than 90% of the users who viewed or downloaded a scene from Thank God You’re Here online last year had already seen the broadcast episode. That shows keen viewers will always look for extra ways to experience the program. It also creates further scope for our sponsors to reach these highly engaged consumers.”
