Sydney- Leading International sports channel, Setanta Sports, will start broadcasting on the Foxtel satellite platform on October 9. Setanta is taking advantage of Foxtel’s digital access regime for third party content suppliers, which was originally approved by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in 2002, and modified in March 2007. Foxtel subscribers wishing to take the Setanta service need to contact Setanta direct. Setanta Sports offers live and exclusive coverage of international football, rugby, cricket and boxing including major sporting events such as the Six Nations Rugby, Scottish Premier League and South American football. An upcoming special event for Setanta Sports is the exclusive screening of Calzaghe vs Kessler in the World Super Middle Weight bout on November 4. Foxtel Chief Executive Kim Williams said: “The access agreement with Setanta shows that our Special Access Undertaking works”. Foxtel provides nine sports channels direct to its subscribers: Fox Sports 1, 2 and 3; Fox Sports News; Fuel; ESPN; Eurosportnews; Sky Racing; and TVN.
