Nonthaburi, Thailand- Shin Satellite, operator of the IPSTAR satellite broadband system, is continuing its partnership with Philippines-based telco TNR Telecoms to operate an advanced, full-featured second generation IPSTAR gateway which will soon be online in Manila to provide IPSTAR services. Extending from the partnership between the two companies in the first generation IPSTAR service on the conventional satellite, TNR Telecoms will provide gateway hosting and operations and has placed an order for IPSTAR User Terminals with an initial bandwidth commitment of 100 Mbps. TNR Telecoms is looking to provide IPSTAR services in the Philippines for rural connectivity, distance e-Learning, e-Governance, e-Commerce projects, as well as to provide connectivity to other telecom service providers. Plans include IPTV broadcast as IPSTAR has provisions for dedicated beams covering the entire archipelago.
