Singapore – ESPN STAR Sports has launched the US version of the SportsCenter sports news program, showing on weekdays at 1400 hrs across South East Asia, Hong Kong and China. Covering key American sports including the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, National Football League, NASCAR racing and NCAA college sports, the US edition of SportsCenter will bring daily news, highlights and analysis to Asia-based fans of American sports. The US version of SportsCenter is the sixth edition of the franchise to be launched in Asia by ESPN STAR Sports, adding to Asian, Indian, Malaysian, Cantonese and Mandarin versions of the show already airing across the region. ESPN Star Sports is also providing coverage of the 2007 Special Olympic World Summer Games in Shanghai across Asia for the first time. The sporting event is being held for the first time in Asia and the second time outside the US, with 30,000 athletes and officials from 175 countries participating. ESPN STAR Sports is featuring highlights on its ESPN and STAR Sports channels throughout Asia.
