Kuala Lumpur – VOOM HD Networks, Ascent Media Pte Ltd and MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn Bhd have sealed a deal to distribute the VOOM HD channel across Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Africa. The VOOM HD channel is available as a 24/7 feed, offering HD programming on topics as adventure travel, fashion, luxury lifestyle, art, live concerts, action sports and video gaming delivered in 1080i format HD with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Ascent Media in collaboration with MEASAT, is providing distribution services for the channel from its Singapore facility. The company is also offering expertise in HD and services to other international broadcasters looking to launch HD services in Asia. Terry Bleakley, MEASAT’s Vice President – Sales & Marketing, noted the recently launched MEASAT-3 satellite, joined next year by MEASAT-1R, will be the platform for the expansion of VOOM HD’s business into the region.
