London/New York/Toronto – New television series Spectacle: Elvis Costello with… (13x1hr) will see musicians Elvis Costello and Sir Elton John collaborate. The former will host the show which is to be executive produced by the latter, in conjunction with his company, Rocket Pictures. Spectacle: Elvis Costello with… is scheduled to air later this year on Canada’s CTV, UK’s Channel 4 and Sundance Channel in the US, with FremantleMedia Enterprises to handle worldwide sales of the show. The show is to be co-produced by Rocket Pictures, SpyBox Pictures, Prospero Pictures and reinvention entertainment. Spectacle: Elvis Costello with… fuses talk and music television and will feature veteran performers and newcomers one-on-one in thematic panel discussions, with performances which include collaborations, acoustic and impromptu ‘illustrative’ demonstrations of the creative process, and original interpretations of others’ songs by Costello. The series producers have struck an association with the (Product) RED campaign to raise awareness and money for the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. Select program excerpts and performances will be distributed in new media and conventional platforms, with a portion of the profits directed to the Global Fund.
