Hong Kong – EA’s Casual Entertainment Label and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will launch the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game in fall of 2008 to coincide with the release of Warner Bros. Pictures film of the same title based on J.K. Rowling’s sixth book of the Harry Potter franchise. Based on the elements of the book and movie, the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince game builds on advancements of previous games in the series with a particular focus on using the console’s Nintendo Wii game console control system. The game allows players to engage in ‘wizard duels’, ‘mix and brew magical potions’ and to participate in a ball game on flying brooms called ‘Quidditch’. The Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince game is being developed by EA Bright Light Studio for the Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, Windows PC, Mac and mobile platforms.
