At MIPCOM, Globo TV International closed a deal with French broadcaster IDF1. The recently launched channel uses a modern digital platform and can be watched in the Ilê de France region. French viewers can now watch the telenovela Shades of Sin. “We’re just beginning our relationship with the channel and we expect to further develop this partnership, as digital platforms are gaining more and more ground in the market,” said Raphael Correa Netto, director of international sales. Another strategic partnership consolidated during MIPCOM was with Albanian channel TV KLAN. The free-to-air channel will show the telenovela Two Faces, another Brazilian drama title, which started its international trajectory at the beginning of this year, and has already been sold in Africa, Eastern and Central Europe. TV Klan has already partially broadcast Pages of Life. Globo TV International has increased its presence in the country, and in addition to Manoel Carlos’s telenovelas, Seven Sins and Tropical Paradise which are already being shown on the DigitalB and Top channels. Also during MIPCOM, the La Tele station, specializing in telenovelas and focusing on the Hispanic community in Japan, closed a deal with Globo TV International to secure the airing of more than 700 hours per year of Brazilian productions.
