Granada International Australia, part of ITV Global Entertainment Ltd, has sold an extensive package of drama series to Australia’s national broadcaster ABC Australia, as well as more than 80 hours of factual programming. The deal, brokered by Augustus Dulgaro, SVP sales Australia, New Zealand and Japan, will see brand new series of multiple-award-winning dramas Agatha Christie’s Poirot starring David Suchet (The In-Laws; Henry VIII) and Marple which sees Julia McKenzie (Cranford, Notes On A Scandal) making her debut as the shrewd and inquisitive Miss Jane Marple, broadcast on ABC1. Factual series Extreme Rescue, Coach Trip and Zoo Days will be shown on ABC2. Also included in the extensive programming package is The Pinky & Perky Show in which the cheeky double act is given a new lease of life in CGI, which will be aired by ABC KIDS Australia. In the new show, the loveable duo are given their big break in television to the dismay of many of the grown-ups at the TV station who try their best to have the piglets banished from television forever.
