Hong Kong – Asia Television Limited (ATV) announced that it had accepted the resignation of Ricky Wong Wai Kay as chief executive officer of ATV. Wong promptly spoke out that there had been no such resignation, only two weeks after his appointment was announced. ATV statement said, “The Executive Chairman of ATV, Mr. Linus Cheung, has great respect and admiration for Mr. Ricky Wong’s integrity and talent. In fact, Mr. Ricky Wong was recommended by Mr. Linus Cheung to Mr. Payson Cha to join ATV. Most unfortunately, an irreconcilable difference in management style has developed. Mr. Linus Cheung had regrettably accepted the resignation of Mr. Ricky Wong. The resignation of Mr. Ricky Wong is in no way connected to the incident of Miss Asia contest.”
