TV Globo, crosses to India to deliver telenovelas with the world’s most beautiful and enigmatic scenery. Jaipur, known as the Pink City, and Agra, famous for the Taj Mahal, will be some of the international locations of Caminho das Índias, debuting during prime-time in Brazil in January. Shortly, this will also be part of the product catalogue offered by Globo TV International. In order to portray the day-to-day activities from India, close to 40 people from the telenovela team traveled to the country and worked in partnership with the Indian production company Stratum. Actors left for India at the start of November, where they started to give life to their characters. Written by Glória Peres (author of The Clone, which has already been sold in 90 countries), Caminho das Índias maintains the TV Globo characteristic of producing telenovelas using international locations. “As well as contributing to the quality of our productions, this is an excellent way to reinforce the concept of universality in our telenovelas,” affirms the director of international sales at Globo TV International, Raphael Correa. In addition to Jaipur and Agra, other international locations have already been used in TV Globo’s telenovelas. The heavenly landscape of Bali, in Indonesia, set the stage for the first film shoots of Três Irmãs, while Negócio da China was partly shot in Macau and Hong Kong.
