Australia – SBS announced that the documentary First Australians will head its MIPTV and MIPDOC 2009 showcase. Produced over six years by Australia’s Aboriginal filmmakers, Rachel Perkins and Darren Dale, the series chronicles the birth of contemporary Australia and explores what unfolds when the oldest living culture in the world is overrun by the world’s greatest empire. Other titles in SBS’s MIPTV showcase include The Nest, The Miscreants and Best Undressed.
