Singapore – HBO Asia has announced a revamp of the Cinemax channel, starting from March 29 at 9pm (SIN). Now re-branded as MAX, the 24-hour commercial-free programming subscription service targeted at men promises new on-air style and enhanced programming content. Kicking off the line-up on March 29 is the Asian television premiere of JJ Abrams’ monster movie, Cloverfield. MAX will also be showing the entire Indiana Jones movie franchise, leading up to the television premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in the third quarter of 2009; classic HBO World Boxing matches; as well as the HBO miniseries Generation Kill and the HBO Original Series, True Blood. Anchor programming on MAX at 9pm (SIN) daily will include nights of horror and fantasy on Mondays with MAX Twilight; MAX Fanboy on Tuesdays for cult titles; movies showcasing featured Hollywood stars on Wednesdays’ MAX Icon; suspense and thrills with MAX Thriller on Thursdays; and MAX Action from Fridays to Sundays. MAX is available in 18 countries, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
