Hanoi – Radio Voice of Viet Nam (VOV) last week celebrated the opening of its national radio-station centre by launching a new television channel and a radio station for the latest traffic information, reports Viet Nam News. The 14-storey centre at 85 Quan Su Street, built as a memorial construction to mark the 1,000th birthday of Hanoi next year, is equipped with international-standard facilities, including function rooms, a theatre and two studios for recording. The new TV channel, analogue-based VOV TV, is for the wider community. The radio station, FM 91MHz, offers drivers advice on traffic flows around the capital city, and is fed by more than 100 cameras around Hanoi. VOV now broadcasts on five radio channels, has an e-newspaper (VOV News), a newspaper (Voice of Viet Nam) and VOV TV. Broadcast coverage reaches 99 percent of the country.
