Hong Kong – Disney-ABC International Television (DAIT), Asia Pacific announced an expanded team and reorganization for its television distribution sales team aimed at accelerating its Asia Pacific growth. The additional team members and reorganized positions have been created to support DAIT’s strategic priorities and the continued expansion of Disney’s diverse portfolio of programming with its partners across the region. Led by Greg Johnson, vice president, program distribution, DAIT, Asia Pacific, newly hired roles will be based in the Greater China, India and South East Asia markets. Manju Nair, associate director, program distribution, will be based in Mumbai and Beibei Fan has been appointed as director, sales, Greater China, based in Shanghai. Other key positions have been reorganized to support Johnson’s strategic priorities. As such, Amit Malhotra has been appointed regional director, sales Pan Asia and South East Asia; Emma Hu senior manager, Sales South East Asia; and, Robert Tam assistant manager, Sales Pan Asia and South East Asia. Nair will be responsible for managing the continued growth and expansion of DAIT’s program distribution business across all platforms in India. Prior to joining DAIT, Manju worked for Star India Pvt. Ltd as assistant vice president, Content Syndication managing the distribution of domestic and international content. Fan will be responsible for managing the program distribution business across all platforms in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Prior to joining DAIT, Fan worked for Warner Bros. International Television Distribution. Inc as director of sales, Greater China. In his new role, Malhotra will oversee sales and distribution strategies for Pan Asia and South East Asia markets across all platforms, including new media, regional pay platforms and local FTA partners. He will manage the Pan Asia and South East Asia sales team as well as oversee the Hong Kong based sales development team. Hu will be relocating to Hong Kong from Beijing, China to assume the position of senior manager, Sales for South East Asia. As an integral part of the DAIT team for six years, Hu has successfully built content sales in China, and been instrumental in building franchise exposure in market. Tam joined DAIT two years ago and has been instrumental in successfully building and managing client relationships in South East Asia. As part of the new sales structure, Tam will be responsible for supporting sales strategies for clients for both Pan Asia and South East Asia.
