Las Vegas, NATPE Convention – Comcast International Media Group (CIMG) has appointed Transmedia International (Transmedia) to launch Golf Channel, the television network dedicated to the sport of golf, to audiences in Taiwan this month, the announcement was made by Kevin MacLellan, president, CIMG and Comcast Entertainment Productions. Transmedia will operate the new 24/7 HD channel, that will offer up coverage and highlights of the sport’s top tournaments, including the PGA Tour, Champions Tour and Presidents Cup, as well as original series with Chinese subtitles, including Golf Central, Live From, The Big Break, The Haney Project, The Golf Fix, Playing Lessons from The Pros and Golf With Style. Golf Channel first began distributing its content to an international audience in 1996, with the launch of a 24-hour network in Japan. The channel can now be seen in more than 110 million homes in over 60 countries around the world.
