wedotv and V Renew and Expand Global Distribution Agreement on VIDAA Platform

August 26, 2026 by TVA Editor

Streaming channel operator wedotv has renewed and expanded its global distribution agreement with V, the company behind the VIDAA smart TV platform, adding carriage in the MENA region and South Africa and broadening the portfolio of wedotv channels through the platform.

The companies began working together in 2023, initially distributing seven wedotv premium thematic channels across 12 markets.  Under the expanded agreement, wedotv Sports MENA and wedotv Cars are being added to the partnership, while existing wedotv services are extending their reach into two additional regions.

In MENA, VIDAA has launched wedotv Sports MENA and wedotv Cars. In South Africa, the platform has added wedotv Big Stories, wedotv Cars, and the single-IP channel wedotv:  Piel Salvaje.

“VIDAA has been an important part of wedotv’s global distribution strategy, providing broad connected-TV reach across a diverse range of markets” said Iza Piotrowska, SVP, Global Business Development, wedotv. “The performance of our channels over the past three years has created a strong foundation for this renewal.  Expanding into MENA and South Africa allows us to build on that momentum while introducing additional genre and single-IP services to VIDAA audiences.”

With these new launches, wedotv currently has FAST channels on VIDAA platforms serving 14 territories, including the DACH region, United Kingdom, Italy, LATAM, Brazil, Poland, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Israel, MENA, and South Africa.

“At V, we believe the best partnerships are built for the long term. Our relationship with wedotv is a great example of two companies growing together, expanding into new markets and creating more value along the way. TV is TV, and viewers expect great content regardless of how it reaches their screen. By extending our cooperation, we can bring even more premium, free content to VIDAA viewers around the world while giving wedotv access to our growing global audience. We respect what our partners do best, and our role is to give them the platform and reach to succeed,” said Guy Edri, CEO of V.

The VIDAA operating system is a smart TV platform that is pre-installed on millions of TVs globally.  Developed originally by Hisense, it operates in over 180 countries and powers more than 50 million Smart TVs from more than 400 global brands, including Hisense, Toshiba, Loewe, Leica, Schneider, and Element.
