John de Mol’s Talpa Studios announces the first international adaptation of its family entertainment format The House of Hide & Seek. Public broadcaster RTVE in Spain has commissioned a local version of the format, ahead of its domestic launch in the Netherlands on May 9th. Inspired by the classic game of hide and seek, the show brings this concept into a high-end studio environment, where contestants hide, hunt and outsmart each other across an impressive purpose-built set. The House of Hide & Seek is created and developed by Talpa Studios, David Grifhorst, and FOX Entertainment Studios.
The Spanish adaptation will be produced by RTVE in collaboration with Warner Bros. ITVP Spain together with Talpa Studios – recording will take place soon in the Netherlands. The broadcast date is yet to be determined.
The partnership with RTVE further strengthens the ongoing creative relationship between the broadcaster and Talpa Studios, after earlier collaborations on The Floor and Trivial Pursuit.
Sebastian van Barneveld, Director Global Distribution at Talpa Studios, commented, “We’re incredibly happy to see The House of Hide & Seek land its first commission before even hitting the airwaves, and to do so with RTVE – a partner we’ve built a strong track record with over the years. The format combines a universally loved game with an ambitious studio setup, making it instantly accessible while delivering real scale and excitement. With FOX Entertainment Studios and David Grifhorst as creative partners, this project truly reflects the power of international collaboration.”
