Something Special, the number one independent Seoul-based international Format agency CEO, Founder & Executive Producer JinWoo Hwang announced that the company has promoted InSoon Kim to Co-CEO/Chief Business Officer formerly EVP & Head of Content. They also announced the promotion of Moonyoung Song, Head of Development, to Vice President (VP) and the appointment of Donggil Seo as Head of Production/Chief Producer who replaces Jacob (Jongbin) Han who recently left to teach at the prestigious Kyonggi University.
Kim’s career prior to joining Something Special in 2019 includes roles as Former Head Researcher at Digital Media Content Formatting Lab (Korea’s first TV format R&D lab supported by the Korean government); taking charge of producing Korea’s first-ever format bible for SBS’ entertainment show Star Junior Show”. She was a Former Format Specialist at CJ ENM, Former Manager and Producer at Global Productions, SBS; and the Former Managing Director at FormatEast (SBS’ subsidiary company in charge of format IP development, packaging, and distribution). InSoon’s television Format development and production credits at CJ ENM include Genius Game, Super Diva, 3 Idiots, and Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. At SBS, InSoon’s development and production credits include Running Man, Fantastic Duo, Fan Wars, and The Power.
Song has joined Something Special in 2021 and has been leaded international co-development projects for 5 consecutive years and has developed numerous Something Special original unscripted IP’s including Unforgettable Duet and The Underdogs (WT) which format will be launched later this year.
Seo’s credentials include former Development Producer at Remarkable TV in the UK, Unscripted Series Producer, Director, Editor, and Development Producer at JTBC (Studio C1), and Producer and Director at Channel A in Korea. Donggil’s production credits include Ready, Cook, Deliver (JTBC), City Angler Series 1, 2, 3 and Vocalplay: Campus Music Olympiad (Channel A).

Her insight and creativity have led the team to do their very best. Along with the promotion of Moonyoung to VP and the new head of production, the knowledgeable Donggil, they are going to be key to our next growth level.”
