TAICCA Heads toSeries Mania to Upgrade Pitch Session, Launch New Award, and Support Taiwanese Series

March 27, 2026 by TVA Editor

The Series Mania Forum, the industry section of Europe’s leading television series event, officially opened on March 24 in Lille, France. This year, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), led by CEO Erica WANG, headed a delegation of 31 Taiwanese audiovisual companies to establish the TAIWAN SERIES pavilion, showcasing 49 high-quality projects with strong international market potential and aiming to bring Taiwanese original stories into the global audiovisual supply chain.

Furthermore, in a major strategic move, TAICCA is launching a dedicated award for the Asia Co-Pro Pitch by TAICCA session, while also expanding the program from a Taiwan-only platform into a broader Asia-focused pitch session. TAICCA will also renew its memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Series Mania, in the hope that stronger industry matchmaking mechanisms and talent development initiatives will encourage Taiwanese teams to engage in deeper collaboration with the global audiovisual industry.

According to TAICCA CEO Erica WANG: “Series Mania is Taiwan’s most important gateway to the European market. This year marks TAICCA’s fifth time participating as an official partner of the event, and for the first time we will introduce an award for the pitching session. To build greater creative momentum, we have also expanded the platform beyond Taiwan-only projects, upgrading it into an Asia-focused session that brings together co-production projects from Taiwan and across the region. With South Korea as the Country of Honor at this year’s Series Mania Forum, Europe’s growing interest in Asian stories is clear. For Taiwan, this represents both a challenge and an opportunity. Through these efforts, we hope Taiwanese teams can increase their international visibility while gaining more opportunities to connect with development resources at home and abroad, providing tangible support for Taiwan’s audiovisual content.”

To further raise the visibility of Taiwanese series projects in the European market, TAICCA has established the Serial Bridges Asia Award for the Asia Co-Pro Pitch by TAICCA session. A jury comprising experts from leading European production and distribution companies will evaluate projects from an international market perspective and select the Asian project with the strongest global potential. In addition to receiving industry consultation opportunities from the European jury, the winning team will also gain eligibility to apply for TAICCA’s Creative Content Development Program (CCDP), with the opportunity to receive up to approximately USD 60,000 in early-stage development support.

The Serial Bridges Asia Award is open exclusively to projects participating in TAICCA’s Serial Bridges Asia workshop, while the upgraded pitch session as a whole also reflects TAICCA’s broader strategy of using Taiwan as a base to expand co-production partnerships across Asia.

TAICCA is also expected to renew its MOU with Series Mania, further strengthening their long-term partnership in talent development and industry exchange. CEO Erica WANG will also participate in an official industry panel, Serial Bridges: Igniting new co-production dynamics,  joining representatives from international audiovisual institutions to discuss emerging trends in international co-productions.

This year’s TAIWAN SERIES pavilion features a curated lineup of highly anticipated projects. The 49 showcased titles span across genres including crime, social, romance, and period drama. Featured titles include: Addicted, Taiwan’s first youth drug crime  drama series; See You at 11pm, a popular Mirror Fiction novel adaptation with strong potential as a genre series; and The Great Tipsy 1980s, a fantasy period drama adapted from the smash hit original immersive theater production. Together, these projects demonstrate Taiwan’s strong creative momentum, from original stories to cross-media adaptations.

On the opening day, the TAIWAN SERIES pavilion received visits from international producers and industry professionals, with ongoing inquiries and exchanges taking place throughout the day. Visitors stopped by the booth to learn more about Taiwanese projects and explore potential collaboration opportunities.

Taiwanese exhibitors, including TVBS and Mirror Entertainment Inc., noted growing interest from the European market, particularly in co-financing and co-production opportunities. There was notable attention toward suspense and thriller projects, as well as interest in adapting Taiwanese IP for localized remakes. They also observed that stories with cross-cultural appeal are more likely to attract international partners.

Through its participation in Series Mania, TAICCA will continue to deepen connections between the Taiwanese and European audiovisual industries, match Taiwanese companies with international buyers and production resources, and establish cross-border talent development, financing, and co-production frameworks to bring high-quality Taiwanese content to global audiences.
