Marina Abramović to feature in second season of BBC Studios’ Arts in Motion series

BBC Studios has announced the return of Arts in Motion, an editorial programme that celebrates artistic excellence and achievement, in partnership with Rolex. Produced by BBC Studios, the new season brings together BBC Studios’ longstanding commitment to Arts and Culture programming with Rolex and its Perpetual Arts Initiative, aiming to spotlight creativity and innovation across the arts. 

Following a highly successful launch last year which featured masterclasses from high-profile figures in the arts world including actor Brian Cox and the Vienna Philharmonic and pianist Yuja Wang, the second season will offer content across the BBC’s international platforms including the BBC News Channel, BBC.com, the global BBC app and BBC Culture social media channels.

Running from 10 November through to March 2026, 6 x 23-minute Arts in Motion programmes on the BBC News Channel will be accompanied by captivating bespoke digital content for BBC.com and BBC social channels. They will feature world-renowned cultural figures including conceptual artist Marina Abramović, Italian mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli, and the production powerhouse National Film and Television School (NFTS), performance collective (LA)HORDE and rising star architect Lina Ghotmeh, who will share their creative process and artistic insights with audiences across the globe.

The programmes will provide intimate, authentic and personal insight into the artistry behind the scenes and the journey of the of artists, whilst bridging the gap between artists and audience showing the emotional journey of their artistic process. The programmes will also be available on BBC iPlayer in the UK and associated shortform content on BBC.co.uk.

Arts in Motion is made by BBC Studios. The commissioners for BBC News and BBC.com are Cassian Harrison and Camelia Sadeghzadeh. The Directors are Stephen Pook, Posy Dixon, Ben Falk and Fred Scott. The Digital Editor is Max Tobin. The Series Producer is Matt Deigan and the Executive Producer is Ruth Holland.
