Big Time Decent International, the recently launched distribution business from Canada’s Big Time Decent Productions, has revealed its program slate for its freshman attendance at next month’s MIPCOM.
Comprising 80+ hours across five series, each produced by Big Time Decent Productions, this inaugural slate is a mix of character-driven reality and documentary, plus true crime and mystery series with a twist – all driven by extraordinary access, brilliant storytelling and high-end production values.
Leading the slate is Underdog Inc. (8 x 60, plus a second 8 x 60 series in production), an obs-doc series that follows four-foot-tall trucker, handyman, and all-around problem-solver Dale Kristensen, a man living with dwarfism, as he takes on the jobs nobody else will in the wilds of Western Canada. Dale’s stature may be small, but his ambition is towering. Determined to build a better life for his young son, Cooper, he tackles dangerous, high-stakes work that most would turn down: hauling wrecked vehicles up sheer cliffs, racing wildfire smoke to deliver lifesaving firefighting gear, and rescuing stranded travellers from the unforgiving backcountry. Packed with stunning scenery, adrenaline-charged rescues, and the unstoppable spirit of a true underdog, Underdog Inc., which made a record-breaking debut on AMI in Canada, successfully combines blue-collar grit with universal heart.
Big Time Decent International is also introducing four major new series for pre-sales:
American Occult (16 x 60) plunges into the chilling true stories of crimes driven by fringe faiths, satanic rituals, and supernatural delusions—cases where belief becomes a weapon and reality itself is twisted beyond recognition. Told through an electric mix of voices—with unprecedented access to law enforcement, survivors, former cult members, clergy, and even current believers, episode topics include Kentucky’s Vampire Clan killings; Adolfo
Constanzo, the charismatic cult leader whose fusion of drug trafficking and human sacrifice terrorised Florida and Mexico; and the global religious cult, Children of God.
Scam Capitals (16 x 60) is a fast-paced, high-stakes true crime series that takes viewers inside the world’s boldest cities built on deception—where scams aren’t just a side hustle, they’re part of the culture. From Lagos’s infamous email cons to Naples’s high-stakes art forgeries, from Vancouver’s shady stock exchange to Dubai’s luxury real estate swindles, this globe-trotting series exposes the grifters, schemes, and systems that make these places fertile ground for billion-dollar crime.
Mysteries of the Hollow Earth (24 x 60) explores one of history’s most mind-bending and enduring conspiracy theories: that our planet is not solid, but hollow—and that an entirely new world exists beneath our feet. From ancient myths and sacred texts to secret Nazi expeditions and modern scientific anomalies, this series uncovers the global web of belief, evidence, and speculation that has kept the Hollow Earth legend alive for centuries. It’s a visually stunning, high-concept exploration series that blends adventure, history, and the supernatural—perfect for a global audience hungry for mystery-driven, prestige factual programming.
Yukon Tow (16 x 60) is a high-octane doc series set on the brutal highways of Canada’s north, where survival can hinge on the grit of tow truck drivers. Battling frozen roads, avalanches, wild animals, and isolation, these tough-as-nails operators risk their lives to keep stranded motorists safe and remote communities connected. Each episode follows veteran hauliers, rookies, and fearless specialists as they take on jaw-dropping recoveries in one of the harshest environments on Earth. Packed with danger, heart, and unforgettable characters, Yukon Tow delivers blue-collar reality at its grittiest against the stunning backdrop of the Yukon.
René Brar, Head of Development & Sales at Big Time Decent International, says “We are excited to attend our first MIPCOM and look forward to sharing this slate of unscripted titles with a wide range of buyers. Big Time Decent is known for its compelling, character-driven content, so we have high hopes for Underdog Inc., following Dale Kristensen, as he navigates immense life challenges. We are also proud to present fresh new takes on hot topics like true crime and mystery, and are confident that our alternative viewpoints and international stories – all underpinned by exclusive access, leading experts and Big Time Decent’s production skills – will be much in demand.”
Big Time Decent International will be based at the Canadian Pavilion during MIPCOM 2025. The team is keen to meet a wide range of global buyers as well as third-party producers seeking international representation for their content.
