CBC/Radio-Canada announces preliminary coverage plans of host lineup for the Olympic Games Paris 2024

With the countdown on to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 this summer, CBC/Radio-Canada, Canada’s Olympic network, has announced highlights of its upcoming coverage. The Games of the XXXIII Olympiad Paris 2024 will take place from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11, 2024. Team Canada will be among the approximately 10,500 athletes, 5250 women and 5250 men, representing 206 countries taking part in these Olympic Games.

CBC’s comprehensive coverage of Paris 2024 will feature live broadcasts from every venue and include every Canadian medal-winning moment, totalling more than 3000 hours of live content across the public boadcaster’s multiple platforms. In addition to TV broadcasts on CBC and partner networks TSN and Sportsnet, audiences will be able to watch live events daily on the free CBC Gem streaming service, CBC’s Paris 2024 website and the CBC Paris 2024 app for Android and iOS devices. The website and app will also house full event schedules, results, athlete bios and features, daily updates and more. Plus, exclusive coverage will be provided by CBC Sports including in-depth reports, highlights, digital series and on-demand replays of the biggest moments and events.

Broadcasting live for 22 hours of daily coverage throughout the Games, CBC’s Paris 2024 broadcast team is composed of trusted personalities known to audiences across Canada. Having assembled the most experienced commentators and sport analysts in the country, this award-winning team is set to provide the world-class storytelling and event coverage that audiences expect from an Olympic Games broadcast on CBC. A comprehensive list of commentators and analysts will be released closer to the Olympic Games.

Plus, CBC Sports reporter Devin Heroux will be on the ground in Paris bringing audiences the latest updates from the biggest competition stage in the world.

CBC’s Chief Correspondent, Adrienne Arsenault will be in Paris to host special editions of The National leading up to the Opening Ceremonies. CBC News Network’s Heather Hiscox will be on the ground with Salimah Shivji and Sarah Leavitt to keep Candians informed of breaking news. Audiences can also tune into CBC Radio weekday mornings to hear the latest from Paris with Scott Regehr, and stay with us across the day for hourly Olympic Updates. For audiences of all ages, CBC Kids will celebrate Paris 2024 beginning in May on cbckidsnews.ca and June on cbckids.ca. Teachers will be able to find news, videos, quizzes and games and engage with their students on themes of summer sports, their favourite athletes and fun facts about Paris, France. During the Olympic Games in July and August, kids and families are encouraged to visit cbckidsnews.ca for real-time news coverage and cbckids.ca to join in the Olympic action with games like skateboarding, tennis, mountain biking and more.
