Boutique producer and distributor APC Studios has secured a raft of international sales for the brand-new crime thriller Wolf. An APC Studios (UK) originated co-production with award-winning Hartswood Films for the BBC and with the support of Creative Wales, Wolf premiered on BBC One, BBC Wales and BBC iPlayer this summer.

Deals for the six-part series include Deutsche Telekom for Germany (Magenta TV), Blue Play for German-speaking Switzerland, CANAL+ for Austria, TVNZ for New Zealand, Proximus and RTBF (Auvio) for Belgium, Paramount+ for English-speaking Canada and France, Quebecor Content (Club illico) for French-speaking Canada, RTS for Switzerland and HOT for Israel. Previous pre-sales secured include HBO Max EMEA and SBS for Australia.

Based on Mo Hayder’s acclaimed Jack Caffery series of novels, Wolf is written and adapted by Megan Gallagher (“Borderliner”, “Suspicion”) with Ukweli Roach (“Annika”, “The Midwich Cuckoos”, “Blindspot”, “Humans”) playing the lead role of DI Jack Caffrey. The major drama also stars Sacha Dhawan (“Doctor Who”, “The Great”, “Marvel’s Iron Fist”), Iwan Rheon (“Game of Thrones”, “Riviera”), Sian Reese-Williams (“Hidden”, “Hinterland”, “Line of Duty”), Juliet Stevenson (“Out of Her Mind”, Bend It Like Beckham, “Riviera”) and Owen Teale (“Line of Duty”, “Game of Thrones”).

Obsessed with the neighbour he believes murdered his ten-year-old brother in the nineties, Jack finds himself trying to right the wrongs of others, but at what cost? In an isolated house in Monmouthshire, the wealthy Anchor-Ferrers family find themselves the victims of a psychopath’s cruel games, trapped and terrorised. When the two narratives collide, it’s a thrilling, nail-biting and deeply disturbing race against time.

Laurent Boissel and Emmanuelle Guilbart, Joint-CEOs and Co-Founders at APC Studios, said: “Following the successful broadcast launch of Wolf this summer, we are thrilled to have secured strong new partners globally. We are extremely passionate about this show, a project that we started 5 years ago by picking this fabulous book. We can’t wait for international audiences to become enveloped in the story, the performances and Megan’s fantastic writing.”

Wolf is a 6 x 60’ series and was commissioned by Piers Wenger, Director of BBC Drama, Nick Andrews, BBC Wales Head of Commissioning and Charlotte Moore, Chief Content Officer. Executive producers are Elaine Cameron for Hartswood Films, Laurent Boissel for APC Studios, Megan Gallagher, Kristoffer Nyholm (“The Killing”, “Taboo”), and Rebecca Ferguson and Ben Irving for the BBC. Kristoffer Nyholm directed the first three episodes and Lee Haven Jones (“The Bay”, “The Long Call”) directed the final three. Nikki Wilson (“Doctor Who”, “The Sarah Jane Adventures”) is the producer. APC handles worldwide distribution rights.
