ASUS Pioneers Cross-Domain Investment with TAICCA to Propel Taiwan’s ACG Content Production

December 4, 2023 by TVA Editor

ASUS pioneers cross-domain investment with TAICCA to propel Taiwan's ACG content production

ASUS announced the formalization of the ROG SAGA IP Investment Memorandum of Understanding in collaboration with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA). This strategic partnership marks an investment in world-class intellectual property and is a groundbreaking venture into the creative content industry, leveraging ROG SAGA, a universe created by the globally acclaimed Republic of Gamers (ROG), a gaming sub-brand of ASUS, to shape the future of ACG (Anime, Comics, and Games) content production in Taiwan.

ASUS Co-CEO S.Y. Hsu expressed the company’s commitment to innovation and breakthroughs, stating, “ROG SAGA represents ASUS’s inaugural leap into digital content production and is a pioneering world-class intellectual property project promoted by Taiwan’s technology industry, signaling a significant milestone. Through our collaboration with TAICCA, we aim to amplify the presence of ROG SAGA on the global stage, actively pursue international production partnerships, and attract investment from cultural and creative funds, thereby advancing Taiwan’s content and creative industries.”

The Chairperson of the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), Homme Tsai, emphasized that Taiwan’s technology industry holds a leading position globally. He commended ASUS, a trailblazing force in the technology sector, for spearheading a groundbreaking cross-domain investment project in collaboration with TAICCA. With the recent announcement by the Ministry of Culture regarding the “T-Comics – Directions for Production of Taiwanese Comics Series” in the “1 plus 4 T content Plan”, TAICCA aims to leverage Taiwan’s robust and powerful technology industry along with the rich and diverse cultural content of Taiwan. The ultimate goal is to elevate Taiwan’s Animation, Comics, and Games (ACG) content industry to its full potential, accumulating international experience from story development, comic creation, animation, game production, and conquering new frontiers in the global market.

The collaboration between ASUS and TAICCA seeks to strengthen Taiwan’s influence in the worldwide creative content market, fostering international partnerships, and attracting investment to propel the ACG industry forward.

ROG SAGA, introduced in 2017, is an immersive universe embodying innovation, hybridization, and rebellion – extending the core philosophy of ROG. Rooted in a near-future world with a cyberpunk concept, ROG SAGA features seven heroes who have gathered at the crossroads of fate to provide players with a profound gaming experience.

The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), established in June 2019 and supported by the Ministry of Culture, is a professional intermediary organization working to promote the development of Taiwan’s content industries including film and TV, publishing, pop music, ACG, and more.
