TAICCA presents Taiwan Pavilion at MIPCOM to foster international sales of Taiwan TV content

October 19, 2023 by TVA Editor

Taiwan exhibitors had meetings at Taiwan Pavilion

When MIPCOM takes over Cannes’ Palais des Festivals on the 16th and welcomes more than 10,000 professionals from over 90 countries working in the TV and entertainment fields, Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) will make its presence felt with its Taiwan pavilion. There, 32 companies focusing on television content are presenting 80 works to buyers and executives.

The wide ranging television work includes Living, starring Wu Kang-Ren and Yang Kuei-Mei, which jumped to the top of Taiwan’s viewing chart when it streamed on Netflix. It is executively produced by actress-turned-producer Ruby Lin, whose producing credits include the popular series Light the Night. Notable animation projects include the series Who’s Our Sub Today, selected to MIFA Pitches at the 2021 Festival D’Annecy, and the fantasy feature Luda, the opening film for Taichung International Animation Festival. In factual TV programming, Island of Mountains: Believe it or not. This is Taiwan!!! profiles mountaineers life stories set against beautiful mountain scenery. Other notable TV projects include the family drama WOMEN and reality show A Store of Dreams Under the Cocoa Tree.

TAICCA aims to support and promote Taiwan’s creative culture industry and it has been elevating the international reach of Taiwan’s audiovisual works since the Agency’s inception. It actively assists companies and projects from Taiwan, aiding them to succeed in the international market. In recent years, TAICCA has set up Taiwan pavilions at many international film and TV markets, increasing Taiwan’s exposure and helping the sales of Taiwanese work. The results so far have been positive. With its participation in MIPCOM this year, it aims to achieve yet more sales and to demonstrate the variety of content from Taiwan’s film and TV industry.

MIP JUNIOR, the notable pre-MIPCOM International Kids Screening and Co-Production Market, the biggest market focusing on global kids content, will also see Taiwan’s presence with TAICCA also supporting Taiwanese companies with children’s projects in their line-up.
