Nippon TV, Japan’s leading multiplatform entertainment powerhouse, announced that Homeroom, its award-winning one-hour drama series is set for an adaptation in Thailand. TrueID, the most popular streamer in Thailand, partnering with Juvenile Co., Ltd. (JUVE9), one of Thailand’s leading production houses, has acquired the scripted format rights and is currently in production featuring top stars from Thailand. The series is scheduled to begin streaming on TrueID platform within the 4th quarter of 2024. JUVE9 had also previously acquired the Thai adaptation rights to Nippon TV’s Mother, as well as Abandoned, both successfully aired and streamed locally as well as winning prestigious awards.　

The announcement was made by Ms. Moe Kanzaki, Sales and Licensing of Scripted Formats, Global Business, Nippon TV, and Mr. Thiti Sutthikulphanich, Executive Producer for JUVE9.

“Thiti’s team has a proven track record of creating hit series and the Thai version of our Homeroom is already looking very promising, featuring many future stars from Thailand. This impactful series opened many doors for the Japanese actors and creators, and I firmly believe it will do the same in Thailand, and globally as well,” commented Kanzaki. “The creators of Nippon TV’s original Homeroom have recently produced The Greatest Teacher, breaking Nippon TV’s record number of views on AVOD, and we look forward to introducing both series at MIPCOM.”

Homeroom had also been adapted in Turkey in 2020, where the premier episode gained the highes ratings of that decade.
