Directed by Wang Liwen and starring Hsu Weining, Edward Chen, Yin Xin and Hsueh Shih-Ling, iQIYI Original Taiwanese series Lesson in Love has released 6 episodes to date and 8 for VIP members, ranking 3rd among other trending shows on the international app.

In the latest episodes, Zhang Yixiang (starring Edward Chen) is met with numerous obstacles from romance to familial ties and friendship problems. Furthermore, the fact that Zhang Yixiang’s birthday coincides with the period where his mother, Xie Shufen (starring Yin Xin) had an affair with Chen Mengyun’s (starring Hsu Weining) father was revealed, which raises suspicions over the fact they might be half-siblings. Despite this series of unfortunate events, fans were still in awe over the director’s work in staging picturesque scenes for their romance to unfold.

With the latest episodes released on Christmas Day, the CPU Nan Yi High School school bully gang in Lesson in Love comprising of Edward Chen, Kota Kagami (各务孝太), Yuto Lin (林玉书) and Yang Chen (杨诚) went on a livestream together where they exchanged Christmas gifts. They also showcased their jovial personalities in a game of truth or dare as Edward Chen reenacted the classic scene of him confessing his love in the rain, filling the livestream with laughter.

With numerous intimate scenes between Hsu Weining and Edward Chen in Lesson in Love including many that were in Zhang Yixiang’s dreams, netizens were left hungry for more. In the newly released episode 7, Mengyun revealed that Yixiang’s mother, Xie Shufen, once had an affair with her father and left in anger when Yixiang and her were at a motel together.

It was only until episode 8 when Yixiang was agonised by the fact that he might be made use of by Mengyun in an act of revenge against his mother. After finding out that she was dismissed by the school, he finally came to terms with the truth that he was in love with his teacher and rushed to her house to confess in the rain.

The both of them proceeded to make love with each other for the first time after acknowledging their mutual feelings. Devoid of overly intimate images, the atmosphere was in fact immensely beautiful as Yixiang ended with the line “here’s some good news, I’m actually 18,” and left the audiences to imagine what happened next. Many fans took to the net and praised the director’s eye in staging the beautiful close-up show as it accentuated Hsu Weining’s beauty.
