Studio886 announced its official launch with 11 Taiwan-based content partners on social video platforms and new media platforms, and the service is a sub-brand under the Taiwan original scripted content production firm, Studio76.

Studio886 marks the first-ever content aggregation service in Taiwan that aggregates quality broadcast content from local media partners and distribute their content on a wide array of new, non-traditional media platforms such as Youtube, Facebook, Tiktok, BiliBili and FAST streaming channels etc.

Studio886 has signed a global new media distribution agreement with these eleven major Taiwan content partners – Formosa TV, Sanlih Television, Eastern Broadcast Corp., Era Networks, Next TV, Pili Int’l Multimedia, Da-Ai Television, MOMO Kids Channel, One Productions, SOFA Studio and CK Stanley Int’l Media – representing top Taiwan drama titles like In A Good Way and the famous martial art action drama Fei Lung, blockbuster movie titles like Orz Boys and Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?, animation titles like MumuHug and the iconic Pili puppetry shows, representing a library size with more than 4,000 hours of quality Mandarin-speaking content.

Studio886 will license the content, edit them in platform-optimized clips, create subtitles and channels in seven languages ( English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesian, Portuguese and Spanish ) and assign dedicated editors in those languages on Youtube, Facebook Watch and other VOD and social media platforms to promote Taiwanese content to the global audiences. Studio886 will run a global quarterly viewer analysis with all participating partners of how their content is being viewed and enjoyed by the global audiences. Studio886 has reached a global content partnership agreement with Youtube.

Dennis Yang, the Managing Partner of Studio76 expressed, “We are thrilled to work together with the top Taiwan broadcasters and content partners to present their content to the world audience, where in the past we were focused on Chinese viewers and markets. The new waves of video platform in different subscription-based and free-with-ads business models create a lot of room for quality content to reach out to new audiences and to monetize. Studio886 is happy to be the first aggregation service in Taiwan for our partners on two ends – content and platforms – and we are bringing in our values by language subtitles and localization efforts to appeal to the platform audiences, with this everybody wins ”

Studio886, a new media brand fully owned and operated by parent company Studio76 is jointly invested by KKCompany (formerly KKBOX Group), Taiwan National Development Fund (managed by TAICCA) and Japan’s Dream Ventures of Asahi Broadcast Group.
