Boat Rocker, an independent, integrated global entertainment company has announced that its Hong Kong office has secured a raft of deals with broadcasters across Asia for its productions across Kids and Family and Unscripted portfolio alongside additional catalogue sales.

Further agreements have also been secured with Australian content partners, as the company continues to see rapid growth in the regions.

Sales have been concluded with four Boat Rocker productions from the Kids and Family division including three series co-produced Industrial Brothers: Dino Ranch, Kingdom Force and Remy and Boo, as well as the Boat Rocker BBC, UYoung co-production Love Monster. Within the Unscripted division, Mary’s Kitchen Crush (Proper Television) and Anna’s Occasions (Triton HQ) has joined Boat Rocker’s content menu. Further distribution deals have also been secured for Secrets in the Ice, You’re Called What?, Living Color, and Chuck and the First People’s Kitchen.

Dino Ranch (52 x 11’, Industrial Brothers), a 3D animation pairing two of pre-schoolers’ greatest loves – dinosaurs and ranchers – in thrilling dino-driven adventures in the great outdoors, has been sold to Warner Media Asia, Jetsen Huashi in China and Disney Japan.

In Taiwan, Love Monster (54 x 7’, a BBC/Boat Rocker/UYoung co-production) has been acquired by linear broadcaster MOMO TV plus key streamers including MOD and FriDay. The preschool series follows the colourful and funny adventures of a loveable, huggable hero as he searches for the right thing to do in a world in which he is one of a kind.

ViuTV Hong Kong, Hakka TV Taiwan and Trans 7 Indonesia have acquired Kingdom Force (52 x 11’, Industrial Brothers), a high-octane, 3D animated action show following the thrilling, fast-paced exploits of five mighty animal heroes as they serve and protect the citizens of five unique animal kingdoms.

Disney Asia, ViuTV Hong Kong and Hakka TV Taiwan have bought heart-warming and humorous Remy and Boo (52 x 11’, Industrial Brothers), which tells of the unique friendship between an adventurous six-year-old girl, Remy, and an incredible squishy pink robot called Boo in Dolphin Bay.

Mary’s Kitchen Crush (30 x 30’, Proper Television), starring ‘Canada’s culinary sweetheart’ Mary Berg, has been sold to Discovery Asia and JEI TV Korea. All about food, friends, family and having fun in the kitchen, the series celebrates creativity and connection through food.

Discovery Asia has acquired Anna’s Occasions (10 x 22’, Triton HQ), in which Anna Olsen shares her new collection of scrumptious desserts from her bright and cosy kitchen as she bakes for life’s special moments. The show has also been bought by SBS Food in Australia.

NTV Japan have bought Chuck and the First People’s Kitchen (13 x 30’, Andicma Media), which follows chef and broadcaster Chuck Hughes in his search of the ancestral culinary traditions of the First Nations. The show has also been acquired by SBS Food Australia and its indigenous channel, NITV.

National Geographic Asia has acquired Secrets in the Ice (S1 – 6 x 60’, S2 -10 x 60’, Shark Teeth Films) which merges CGI re-creations, advanced scanning technology and scientific research as it goes to the most remote, cold, and inhospitable places on the planet to reveal great mysteries that were once frozen in time.

JY Animation China, True Visions Thailand and Channel A and JEI TV Korea have bought Wildlife series You’re Called What (13 x 30’, Wild Bear Entertainment), which provides an insight into the amazing lives of peculiarly titled animals, such as the Chinstrap Penguin and the Monkeyface Prickleback, and reveals why they got those funny names.

Living Colour (1 x 60’, Curious Features) has been bought by CCTC China, DaAi TV Taiwan and True Visions Thailand. A captivating exploration of the science of colour, it hears from scientists who are fascinated by how we experience colour, and extraordinary people who see colour in remarkable ways.

Henry Or, SVP Strategic Partnerships Asia Boat Rocker, said, “We’re delighted that so many of our titles have been picked up across these key regions. These deals include some of our major in-house produced shows and many are with traditionally less accessible broadcasters, highlighting the strategic importance of Boat Rocker’s Hong Kong office and the wide-ranging, globally appealing and engaging nature of our ever-growing portfolio.”
