Nippon TV, Japan’s leading multiplatform entertainment powerhouse, proudly announced that the company has captured the Annual Individual Ratings Triple Crown Title for 2020 by topping the charts as individual ratings champion in the All Day, Prime Time, and Golden Times categories. Given a new system implemented for the first time this year which now measures individual ratings rather than household ratings as in past years, this marks the tenth consecutive year in which Nippon TV has earned this title.
Mr. Yoshinobu Kosugi, Representative Director, President, and Executive Operating Officer said, “I thank all our supporters who helped us win the 2020 Annual Individual Ratings Triple Crown Title. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the loyal viewers who supported our programs, as well as our sponsors and partners who enabled our production.”
He continued, “Due to the spread of COVID-19 in 2020, this was a year in which we continually considered the question, ‘What can TV do for people now?’ This year, along with providing fast, accurate, and trustworthy news and information programs, we took unprecedented challenges, such as our first experience of broadcasting entertainment during the ‘new normal,’ including the 43rd season of 24-Hour Television, with the goal of providing wholesome entertainment programs to give people hope and energy, while taking all possible measures to prevent the spread of the virus.”
“In 2021, we hope for your continued support as Nippon TV rises to the challenge of offering more high-quality content across multiple platforms that include our linear, BS (broadcasting satellite), and CS (communications satellite) channels, as well as Hulu in Japan, TVer, and our other digital streaming services.” Mr. Kosugi concluded.
