Viddsee has launched the first of its 12 short films, four documentaries, and six short-form series produced under the StoriesTogether Content Fund. These Singapore-made films and series will also be used to drive audiences to donate to Community Chest and be featured during Giving Week to further drive donations to the fundraising arm.
Making its debut on 6 November is Dim Sum, a short film produced by Butterworks. Other notable contents in the line-up are the series Gangster Nurse by Oak3 Films, which stars Tosh Rock; The Distance Between Us which is directed by K. Rajagopal for Akanga Film Asia (which produced A Land Imagined).
Driving to action
The short films and series are part of Viddsee’s StoriesTogether regional initiative, which aims to bring hope through films. In supporting its mission, the content will also help drive donations to Community Chest.
Ho Jia Jian, co-founder of Viddsee said, “As a platform that curates and creates content, we understand how powerful stories can be as a force for good. The films and series we’ve created for StoriesTogether cover a diverse range of genres, and highlight issues such as mental health, vulnerable seniors, and at-risk youth, among others. Some of these are aligned with the social causes supported by Community Chest, which we saw as an ideal organisation for our community to rally for and support in their own way.”
Mr. Phillip Tan, Chairman of Community Chest said, “Viddsee has been an invaluable partner for years in the work that we do, and has made use of its storytelling prowess and extensive reach to rally the hearts and minds of donors in support of Community Chest. We are heartened that it is once again stepping up to help raise funds for Community Chest. These donations will ensure that our social service agencies and service users receive critical support during these challenging times.”
A number of the films and series will also be used to channel donations during Giving Week, which takes place from 1-7 December. During this period, Viddsee will be organising a host of activities, including community contests, giveaways, and live watch parties to drive contributions for Community Chest.
Supporting Viddsee’s initiative is Rock Entertainment, an international content distributor and channel operator that reaches over 30 million viewers across 17 countries. Under this partnership, Rock Entertainment will feature and promote the films and series from January onwards on two of its channels, Blue Ant Entertainment and Blue Ant Extreme.
More to come
Under the StoriesTogether Content Fund, Viddsee Studios worked with 21 Singapore-based media companies to create a diverse range of films and series that cut across multiple genres of thrillers, drama, and comedy.
The films and series are expected to be launched in two phases, with the first phase comprising eight short films and four series launching between now and January 2021. The second phase, which involves four short films, four documentaries, and two series, will make their debuts from March until May 2021.
All the films and series can be watched for free on viddsee.com/s/storiestogether and on Viddsee’s apps available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The StoriesTogether Content Fund is supported by IMDA’s Public Service Content Fund announced in April this year.
