The Olympic Channel will present more than 280 hours of coverage from the XVIII Pan American Games, which take place from 26 July to 11 August in Lima, Peru. The global digital platform’s daily streaming coverage will include live competition and highlights on their website and its mobile apps, and will be available in Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
The Pan American Games are a summer sports competition held every four years for countries in North, South and Central America. Held in Peru for the first time, Lima 2019 will feature approximately 6,700 athletes from 41 member nations competing in 39 sports, 22 of which offer qualification opportunities for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Thirteen of the sports have direct qualifying places on-the-line for next summer’s Games including archery, diving, equestrian, field hockey, karate, modern pentathlon, sailing, shooting, surfing, synchronized swimming, team handball, tennis and water polo.
