Giving viewers an opportunity to enjoy the stories of some of the most renowned cinema maestros and their distinguished work, ZEE announced the launch of the fifth season of Classic Legends. The show, hosted by the legendary lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar, will familiarize lovers of cinema with the lives and careers of stalwarts who have left an indelible footprint in the world of Indian films. Classic Legends Season 5 will take the viewers on a mesmerizing journey and give them a glimpse into the lives of 26 Bollywood legends who have contributed to Indian Cinema.
Classic Legends began as a step towards creating awareness about the stalwarts of Hindi Cinema whose invaluable offerings continue to stand the test of time. The first four seasons, each of which delved deep into the enthralling lives of Bollywood luminaries, received phenomenal response from people across age groups. Riding on this admiration, Zee Anmol Cinema, Zee Bollywood & Zee Cinema HD will showcase Classic Legends Season 5, a distinguished property presented by the multi-talented Javed Akhtar.
Drawing from his vast personal and professional experience in the industry, Javed Akhtar will take viewers on a journey through the lives of cinema legends that have brought Indian cinema to the staggering high point at which it stands today. Viewers will learn more about the lives of these champions by the person who has had the good fortune of following these legends’ work extremely closely. Javed Akhtar will regale viewers with interesting stories about Hindi film legends through 13 episodes, each featuring 2 celebrities every Saturday. The show will premiere on Zee Anmol Cinema on 8th December at 6pm and on Zee Bollywood at 8pm.
This season of Classic Legends will showcase the lives of actors like Sridevi, Mumtaz, Omprakash, Amrish Puri, Jaya Bhaduri and Hema Malini amongst others. It will also include music directors SH Bihari, Khayyam, legendary playback singer Manna Dey, noted film-makers Basu Chatterjee, Prakash Mehra and Amiya Chakraborty to name a few.
Classic Legends Season 5 will commence with Javed Akhtar taking the viewers into the life of one of Bollywood’s most iconic jodi Rishi Kapoor and the Late Sridevi.
