Endemol Shine Group announces first European deal for Family Food Fight

December 7, 2018 by Ang Yi An

Global content creator, producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group announced the first European deal for culinary competition format Family Food Fight.

Metronome, part of Endemol Shine Nordics has been commissioned to make a local Danish adaptation for Discovery, making it the fourth territory to launch the show.

Created by Endemol Shine Australia Family Food Fight is an original format developed with Channel Nine, where it recently successfully completed a second run.

The show has sold to the US with ABC commissioning Endemol Shine North America to produce an eight part series which will air in 2019. In Argentina, a first series by Endemol Shine Latino is currently airing on Telefe with 40.8% primetime market share.

Family Food Fight takes homestyle cooking to a new level as family recipes, rich in tradition and shared over generations, are put on display. Rather than five-star restaurant cuisine, the show focusses on relatable, yet aspirational, home-cooked meals, inspiring budding home cooks across the nation to don their aprons and get into the kitchen together.

With a mix of fast-paced cooking fun, heaped helpings of good humor and healthy rivalries, the Family Food Fight families cook their hearts out as they strive to impress. But despite everyone’s delectable dishes, only one family can claim the coveted title and take home a major cash prize.

Endemol Shine Group creates world-class content for all platforms including global hits Black Mirror, Big Brother, Deal or No Deal, Humans, Hunted, MasterChef, Peaky Blinders, The Island, The Brain, Tin Star and Your Face Sounds Familiar.

The company’s latest international formats – All Together Now, Big Bounce Battle and Family Food Fight have all travelled to multiple markets. All Together Now has sold to 11 markets in 11 months including Brazil, Australia and across Europe, where Big Bounce Battle has sold to France and the US and is returning to RTL Germany.
