StarHub first to offer PeopleTV and HITS MOVIES in Asia

SINGAPORE – StarHub TV customers will be the first in Asia to enjoy the exciting range of content from PeopleTV HD and HITS MOVIES HD, which will be launched on 14 September, 11am and 1 October, 2pm respectively. Customers subscribed to the respective basic groups will enjoy these channels at no additional cost.

 

A new addition to the Lifestyle Basic Group is PeopleTV HD (StarHub TV Channel 440). From PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly, PeopleTV delivers quality programming featuring original series and specials, which encompass celebrity, pop culture, lifestyle and human-interest genres. Viewers will have access to an expansive slate of programming including live red-carpet coverage and exclusive, behind-the-scenes access into magazine cover stories, popular cast reunions and high-profile, one-on-one celebrity interviews. PeopleTV HD will also be made available on StarHub Go from 14 September 2018.

 

Witness the rise of some of Hollywood’s biggest names with the best Hollywood movies from the 1960s to 1990s, with HITS MOVIES HD (StarHub TV Channel 512). Featuring a carefully curated selection of the finest films which include Grease, Star Trek: The Motion Picture and The Italian Job, HITS MOVIES HD is suitable for any movie fan. Viewers can relive the iconic moments from their favourite classics in HD with subtitles. HITS MOVIES HD joins the Entertainment Basic Group on StarHub TV. Customers can also catch these movies on the go with HITS MOVIES HD, available on StarHub Go from 1 October 2018.

All StarHub TV customers with a HD-enabled set-top box can enjoy a free preview of PeopleTV HD from 14 September 2018 to 13 October 2018, and HITS MOVIES HD from 1 October 2018 to 31 December 2019. After the free preview, PeopleTV HD is available to Basic Lifestyle customers, equipped with a HD-enabled set-top box, while HITS MOVIES HD is available to Basic Entertainment HD Upsize customers, equipped with a HD-enabled set-top box.

Chatter – Emmy® award-winning television host Rocsi Diaz hosts PeopleTV’s first primetime entertainment newsmagazine, which is based out of Los Angeles. Each live, half-hour episode features Diaz and guest co-hosts breaking down the latest trending moments in celebrity and entertainment news, and interviewing today’s buzziest stars with viewer tweets driving the conversation.

 

Couch Surfing – Hosted by Lola Ogunnaike, this series features famed film and television stars as they stroll down memory lane to watch and react to their biggest roles, their smallest roles and everything in between. Nothing is off limits as these stars recall behind-the-scenes mishaps, auditions for pinnacle roles, relationships with co-stars and more.

 

Entertainment Weekly Cast Reunions – Entertainment Weekly reunites casts from beloved films and television shows. Actors, producers, directors and more sit down to reminisce about their projects, which have stood the test of time.

 

The Jess Cagle Interview – Hosted by the Editorial Director of PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly, Jess Cagle sits down with Hollywood A-listers for in-depth, one-on-one interviews.

 

PEOPLE Now – PeopleTV’s flagship entertainment newsmagazine broadcasts weekdays from the network’s headquarters in New York City. Hosted by Jeremy Parsons and Andrea Boehlke, this series delivers a satisfying selection of everything PEOPLE has to offer: exclusive interviews, celebrity and entertainment updates, news and human interest stories — plus, style, pets, parents, food and décor, and more.

Grease – Based on the hit musical Grease, Grease is a romantic comedy film that follows the life of two high school seniors Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson. Starring John Travolta, Oliva Newton-John and Stockard Channing, Grease is not just a nostalgic look at a simple decade- it’s an energetic and exciting musical homage to the age of rock ‘n’ roll.

 

Star Trek: The Motion Picture – When an unidentified alien destroys three powerful Klingon cruisers, Captain James T. Kirk returns to the newly transformed U.S.S. Enterprise to take command. Stars William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelly.

 

The Italian Job – In this classic crime film, small-time crook Charlie Croker (Michael Caine) organizes a motley group of thieves to steal four million worth of gold bullion from an armoured car in Turin, Italy. To pull off the plan, the gang must tie up traffic in the center of the city to divert attention from the robbery, leading to one of the most exciting automobile chases ever filmed.
