One of the leading Turkish content distributors in the world, Inter Medya surprised ATF participants with its diverse and remarkable catalogue. At the Asia TV Forum & Market held every year in Singapore, the company’s international sales team impressed its customers with their series, movies and formats.
At the top of Inter Medya’s successful series catalogue was once more Endless Love (Kara Sevda). Produced by Ay Yapim and featuring actors Burak Ozcivit, Neslihan Atagul Dogulu and Kaan Urgancioglu, Endless Love recently took home an International Emmy in the telenovela category. Can Okan, Founder and CEO of Inter Medya, said: “The series has been sold in over 70 countries so far, which is already a great accomplishment, but its popularity increases more and more, attracting a lot of attention from buyers across Asia. We’ve seen great enthusiasm from Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mongolia and India among others.”
Other highlights included Bi Yapim’s dramedy Hayat (Ask Laftan Anlamaz), which had record-breaking ratings in Afghanistan and Pakistan and which became the first Turkish series to ever be sold to Sri Lanka as well as two brand-new series entitled Broken Wings (Kanatsiz Kuslar) and Mrs. Fazilet and Her Daughters (Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlari). Respectively produced by Koliba and Avsar Film, they both drew lots of attention from buyers across the Asian continent. The COO of Inter Medya, Ahmet Ziyalar mentioned, “We received a lot of positive feedback from buyers for these titles. Already sold in several countries in Europe as well as in the MENA region, and we are confident that they will also be extremely popular in the rest of the world including the Asian market.”
The company’s newest formats, 1 vs. 10, produced by the acclaimed BKM, and Money Monster were particularly popular. They attracted the attention of numerous production companies in the region. “In 2018, we will not only associate the name Inter Medya with Turkish series and movies, but also with formats which we believe will be a global success,” added Can Okan.
