Zodiak Kids announces that they have taken on the TV distribution rights for a new CBeebies, pre-school series Tee & Mo(50 x 7’)and will be showcasing the property at MIPCOM.
Tee and Mo is about the adventures of a fun-loving three-year-old monkey, Tee, and first-time super-mum, Mo, as they navigate the swings and roundabouts of their life together, learning what it takes to be a son and mum.
Tee and Mo innovates by placing a mum at the heart of the storytelling and reflects back to its audience that parent-child relationship, so fundamental to all our lives.
Tee and Mo live in a treehouse in the heart of the jungle. Tee’s a whirlwind of energy and ideas, every new day is an opportunity for fun, adventure and learning, often in the company of his favourite toy, Action Ape. His mum, Mo, is inventive and artistic, and loves nothing more than helping Tee overcome problems by using creative and unexpected solutions.
From their morning wake-up to their bedtime story, Tee and Mo adore each other’s company. That’s not to say they always get on, but they always overcome any differences by working together in an atmosphere of love and understanding. Their jungle friends include Lily the boisterous tiger, Tomo the flying squirrel, Mo’s friend Heidi the hippo, and the crochety warthog Mr. Og, who as well as living next door, also owns the local shop. With a witty narrator who adds surprise and excitement, the show is also accompanied by online games and songs to make it a preschool favourite across multiple platforms.
CBeebies, TVO and Knowledge have commissioned the 50 x 7 minute 2D- animated series from BAFTA Winning UK production company Plug-in Media, for broadcast in 2018, produced in partnership with Canada’s Radical Sheep Productions, a division of Boat Rocker Studios.
Julia Rowlands, VP of Sales, Acquisitions & Co-Productions said “An innovative programme such as Tee & Mo really strengthens our pre-school catalogue. Designed for children and their care givers, the combination of digital and linear elements makes it accessible for all audiences. We look forward to introducing international audiences to this heartwarming and educational duo.”
The property has already had online success for CBeebies with games, shorts and music videos acquiring over 9 million views and two BAFTA nominations. The shorts also secured a Prix Jeunesse, a prestigious children’s television award, win for Best Interstitials earlier this year.
