Leading independent distributor all3media international has signed a number of major pan regional deals ahead of MIPCOM, as more than 70 hours of factual and factual entertainment content heads to schedules across Asia. BBC Worldwide has signed pan Asia rights to more than 40 hour of factual and factual entertainment content including Studio Ramsay’s The F Word USA (11 x 1 hour), the brand new US adaptation of the hit UK series where cooking competition meets variety show, commissioned by Fox and featuring Gordon Ramsay.
Also produced for Fox, the fourth series of Optomen Television’s Kitchen Nightmares USA (13 x 1 hour), following Gordon as he tackles some of America’s worst restaurants, has been relicensed, and season five of all3media America’s multiple award-winning reality series Undercover Boss USA (15 x 1 hour) has also been acquired. Further content includes one hour documentary specials The Truth About Sleep (Lion TV for BBC One) and The Truth About Stress(Blink Films for BBC One).
Discovery has picked up a total of 24 hours of Optomen’s cookery-themed content for its linear platforms, including Worst Bakers in America, produced for Food Network, USA. This new six-part series sees twelve of the country’s worst bakers drafted in for an intense baking boot camp – under the watchful eyes of top chefs Lorraine Pascale and Duff Goldman, they’ll have just six weeks to become expert bakers. Discovery has also signed seasons nine (Celebrity Version, 8 x 1 hour) and ten (10 x 1 hour) of long-running hit Food Network USA series Worst Cooks in America.
Continuing the culinary theme, a pan-regional Asia deal with Scripps Network sees the relicense of six-part series Gok Cooks Chinese, produced by Optomen Television for Channel 4, as Gok Wan unlocks the secrets of delicious Chinese home cooking. Scripps has also renewed food lifestyle series Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch (Studio Ramsay and Objective Media Group for CBBC, UK), acquiring the third 15 x 15’ season joining Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Matilda for more episodes packed with recipes, fun and a fascinating insight into life with a celebrity dad.
