London – FremantleMedia International (FMI) confirmed changes within its scripted acquisitions team with Rebecca Dundon assuming the role of Director of Scripted Acquisitions and the addition of Anthony Patton as its new Content Acquisition Executive.
In her new role, Dundon will reinforce and further drive FMI’s scripted content acquisition strategy by establishing and maintaining relationships with third party writers and producers throughout the UK, EMEA and Asia-Pac with a look to invest and acquire bold and high-impact drama titles to complement FMI’s existing pipeline. She will also work closely with FremantleMedia’s family of global producers to identify, develop and finance internationally appealing scripted titles to be distributed by FMI, as well as negotiate deals to generate strong commercial returns for its in-house producers.
Dundon joined FMI in 2015 as its Senior Acquisitions Manager for Scripted content, and previously held roles on the Shine International acquisitions team where she worked across titles such as Broadchurch, The Tunnel, Real Humans and In the Flesh. Reporting into Dundon, Patton will assist in identifying projects to further enhance FMI’s scripted slate and managing relationships with both internal and third party producers. Prior to joining FMI, Patton served Scripted Acquisitions Coordinator at ITV Studio Global Entertainment.
Since embarking on its high-end drama ambitions, FremantleMedia owned global producers have created critically acclaimed hits such as Modus from Miso Film, Deutschland 83 from UFA Fiction, The Young Pope from Wildside, American Gods from FremantleMedia North America. Future projects include Hard Sun from Euston Film, Picnic at Hanging Rock from FremantleMedia Australia, Deutschland 86 from UFA Fiction and The New Pope, The Miracle and My Brilliant Friend from Wildside. FMI serve as international distributors on all titles and also work with top class third-party drama producers such as Kudos, AbbottVision, Roughtcut, FLX, Essential Media and Little Rock.
