Asia-Pacific, Singapore – The most anticipated reasoning music show, I Can See Your Voice 4, and Na PD’s reality show, Youn’s Kitchen, have dominated viewership ratings among the 119 pay TV channels on Singtel TV and StarHub TV in Singapore since its premiere. The newly launched Korean Blockbuster movie channel, tvN Movies, also performs well on StarHub TV during its free preview period.
I Can See Your Voice 4 topped viewership ratings for three consecutive weeks , and on average, it ranked No. 1 among all viewers (aged 4 or above) for all premiere episodes broadcasted in Singapore. Hosted by Lee Teuk, Yoo Se-yoon and Kim Jong-kook, I Can See Your Voice 4, invites guests to the programme each week to differentiate skilled vocalists from tone-deaf contestants solely by their appearance. I Can See Your Voice 4’s star-studded guest line-up is expected to further boost viewership of the shows with Super Junior (Heechul, Yesung, Shindong) who appeared on 17 May’s episode, followed by EXID on 24 May and Highlight on 31 May.
To amp things up, I Can See Your Voice 4 has added new elements to enhance the excitement for audience and guests: all contestants are introduced with two identities; they are to sing along its lip-sync substitute both doing lip-sync together; and three individuals from the guests or hosts are selected to be the tone-deaf investigators to help defend their assigned contestant after hearing their singing voice and/or witnessing evidence.
I Can See Your Voice achieved proven success and popularity, and has been expanding CJ E&M’s footprint by remaking into several international versions in Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Apart from I Can See Your Voice 4, the viewership ratings of Na PD’s Youn’s Kitchen also dominates the charts, its Monday 23:00 (SGT) slot ranked within Top 3 among all audience (aged 4 or above) for 5 consecutive weeks. The programme sees actors and actresses Youn Yuh-jung, Shin Goo, Lee Seo-jin and Jung Yu-mi travelling to Gili Trawangan, Indonesia and running a small Korean restaurant there.
In addition to the general entertainment channel, tvN Movies was launched in January 2017 on StarHub TV targeting a more mature viewer circle. It ranked No. 8 on average among all 108 channels on StarHub TV during the free preview period (22 Apr – 2 May). Operation Chromite starring Lee Jung-jae, Lee Beom-soo and Liam Neeson, ranked No. 1 among women aged 40-49, No. 2 among male aged 40-49 and No. 2 among the channel’s target audience, male and female viewers aged 20-49, on Sunday at 20:05 (SGT).
