Cannes, France – On the occasion of MIP TV, Fashion TV will update on its Ultra HD strategy that achieved a milestone in December 2016 with the launch of a dedicated channel, FTV UHD, on Eutelsat’s popular HOTBIRD neighbourhood. Fashion TV is leveraging HOTBIRD’s market-leading position to offer exclusive Ultra HD content to cable and IPTV networks across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
FTV UHD uses HEVC encoding with 10 bits of colour depth (one billion colours), at 50 frames per second. Building on the one-of-a-kind Fashion TV brand, FTV UHD is setting a new standard in fashion and lifestyle broadcasting through original programming on style and trends offered with exceptional image quality.
