Los Angeles, USA – MGM International Television Distribution announces an exciting MIP TV 2017 slate highlighted by new scripted and unscripted series including, The Handmaid’s Tale, Get Shorty, Condor, Funderdome and introducing Mutiny, a new factual entertainment series that recreates Captain Bligh’s extraordinary journey after Fletcher Christian’s infamous mutiny on the H.M.S. Bounty.
Scripted titles include the new drama series The Handmaid’s Tale (10×60’) starring Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Samira Wiley, Max Minghella, Yvonne Strahovski, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle and Alexis Bledel, which is based on the award-winning, best-selling Margaret Atwood novel about life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly part of the United States; Get Shorty (10×60’), a dark comedy starring Ray Romano and Chris O’Dowd inspired by Elmore Leonard’s 1990 New York Times best-selling classic novel; and Condor (10×60’) starring Max Irons and inspired by Sydney Pollack’s 1975 political thriller Three Days of the Condor. New season highlights include the third installment of the multi-award winning series Fargo (20×60’) starring Ewan McGregor in a dual role, Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and David Thewlis; the sixth and final season of the hit series Teen Wolf, which finishes with its 100th episode; and season 5 of the international hit series Vikings (69×60’).
Number one in unscripted network television in the U.S., MGM Television’s new unscripted series include Steve Harvey’s Funderdome, (13×60’) a competition show where two budding entrepreneurs pitch their ideas, products or companies head-to-head in front of a live studio audience, who vote on the outcome; The New Celebrity Apprentice (13×60’) hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger; and Mutiny (5×60’), a new factual entertainment series, where nine men set out in a 23’ open boat to recreate the gruelling journey of the men who survived the Mutiny on the Bounty.
