To date, Russia’s Art Pictures Studio has sold Attraction theatrical rights to 74 countries worldwide. Recently, the film has successfully opened in Latvia, Estonia and Vietnam on wide release. With the 67th Berlinale well under way, Art Pictures Studio has signed new international deals – with Conquest Filmes (Latin America) and R.D. FILMS (India).
The distributors are planning to release the movie on a large number of screens with Mexico and Brazil to open on 200 screens per territory.

Fedor Bondarchuk’s sci-fi blockbuster Attraction did a great opening on January 26th in Russia with more than three million admissions. This unconventional and ambitious film by Art Pictures Studio and Vodorod Film Company is the first Russian movie about the extraterrestrials invading the Earth. Attraction offers a large-scale sci-fi chronicle of the mankind whose life is forever changed by a mysterious flying space object crashing over Moscow. The film’s lead characters are played by Irina Starshenbaum, Alexander Petrov, Rinal Mukhametov and Oleg Menshikov.
Before Attraction opened domestically, its theatrical rights have been sold to most of the Eastern markets including Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Brunei and Taiwan as well as to France, Germany and Italy. Soon the movie will open in China on 10 000 screens, too. At EFM Art Pictures Studio is looking to close English-speaking territories. Attraction is now in all Russian cinemas in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.
