Inmarsat and Turksat formalised their partnership at a contract signing ceremony held during Satellite 2016 at National Harbor, MD USA.

Last December, the two companies had signed a memorandum of understanding signalling their mutual intent to form a strategic partnership to enhance opportunities for both companies. The new agreement will see Inmarsat becoming the preferred mobile satellite communications provider for Turksat.

Initially, the two companies will focus on delivering L-band and Global Xpress services to the Government, security, defense, maritime and aviation sectors. In the mid to long term, the companies will expand their coverage to all sectors and government organizations.
