New York– A+E Networks kicked off the 20th anniversary of its international business at MIPCOM with a new scripted slate headlined by Roots, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, and a new season of UnREAL. The series are distributed under the A+E Studios International banner. Launching at MIPCOM is Roots (4×120’), a television event based on the novel by Alex Haley.
Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer, stars of the critically-acclaimed Lifetime series, UnREAL will attend MIPCOM to promote season two of the series. Also on hand will be Sarah Phelps, writer and executive producer of And Then There Were None.
“A year after launching A+E Studios International, our slate of premium scripted series, events and movies continues to grow,” said Joel Denton, Managing Director, International Content Sales & Partnerships. “Our programs are attracting the A-list talent that our clients and their viewers demand, both in front of and behind the camera. To that end, we are very pleased to be joined at MIPCOM by Shiri, Constance and Sarah, who are graciously helping spread the word about their respective projects.”
Denton added, “Looking ahead, we have a number of projects in development that will further enhance our offering. We’re particularly excited about projects like Knightfall, which is being developed by A+E Studios in association with Jeremy Renner and Don Handfield’s production company, The Combine and Midnight Radio.”
