Toronto, Canada – Tricon Films & Television is pleased to announce that Rob Schneider, star, producer, director and co-writer of the scripted comedy series, Real Rob! (8X30’) will be attending MIPCOM 2015. The series stars, is independently produced, directed and self-financed by the Emmy-nominated actor/comedian with his real life wife, Mexican television producer Patricia Azarcoya, who also co-wrote the series with Schneider.
Real Rob! is an exaggerated yet brutally honest depiction of the internationally famous comedian’s real life. Rob lives in two worlds, one where he’s the most important person on set, and the other, where he’s the third most important person in a three-person household, after his two-year-old daughter, Miranda, and his younger Mexican wife, Patricia. Patricia doesn’t quite grasp Rob’s level of fame, because when he was getting his first movie role, she was getting her first tricycle. Rob lives a life where his stalker is more reliable than his assistant, while his assistant is creepier than his stalker. Season 1 guest stars include George Lopez, David Spade, and Norm Macdonald.
Schneider is known around the world for his trademark blend of character and comedic acting. He has just completed filming The Ridiculous Six with Adam Sandler, marking the eighteenth collaboration between Sandler and Schneider. Their long-time friendship has produced comedic hits such as Grown Ups, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, 50 First Dates, Big Daddy and The Water boy. Sandler’s production company, Happy Madison, produced several films written by and starring Schneider, including Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, The Hot Chick and The Animal. Schneider has appeared in 50 films which have grossed over $2.6 billion in North America alone.
He recently made a return to stand-up comedy, releasing two albums since then, Registered Offender and Soy Sauce and the Holocaust, and has received rave reviews for his international comedy tours.
During his four seasons at “SNL,” Schneider created characters that people around the country imitated and adored, including the “copy machine guy,” the “orgasm guy,” and the “put your weed in there guy.” As part of the “SNL” writing staff, Schneider was nominated for three Emmys and won a Peabody Award.
