Toronto, ON– Corus Entertainment’s Disney Channel, the only destination to watch premieres, new episodes of fan-favourite series and original movies, announced the launch of the WATCH Disney Channel app. As part of Corus’ full suite of TV Everywhere apps, the WATCH Disney Channel app is available at no additional charge to Disney Channel subscribers and can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store or Google Play in Canada. Users will receive an extensive offering of live linear programming, on-demand episodes and bonus content that can be streamed on tablet and mobile devices. 

The WATCH Disney Channel app gives fans access to a customized viewing environment allowing them to watch the way they want, at any time. The app provides a comprehensive offering of on-demand episodes from popular Disney Channel series like Austin & Ally, K.C. Undercover, Liv & Maddie and Girl Meets World. Bonus content will include music videos, behind the scenes footage and more. 

A selection of Disney Junior and Disney XD programming will also be showcased with episodes from fan-favourite series Sofia the First, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Doc McStuffins along with Star War Rebels, Gravity Falls, Wander Over Yonder and more. Episodes will be refreshed weekly.

The network is available in 10 million Canadian households with the following distributors Bell Aliant, Bell Fibe TV, Bell Satellite TV, CCSA members including Eastlink and Access, Cogeco Cable Canada, MTS, Rogers, Shaw, Shaw Direct, TELUS and Videotron.

Corus’ apps are built using You.i Engine software, developed by Ottawa-based startup You.i TV, which powers the user experience across all platforms. These apps are also supported by technologies from the Platform, Adobe Primetime, Penthera, Akamai and Elemental.
