Hong Kong − Audiences in Asia will be able to experience the second series of The Last Ship, last year’s top summer drama in the U.S., just a few hours after its global debut. First and exclusive on Warner TV, the series premieres in the Philippines with a double-episode on 22 June, and on 23 June in the rest Asia.
Featuring epic-scale, visceral storytelling based on William Brinkley’s popular novel, season two of The Last Ship continues its story of a quest to save humanity after a devastating pandemic. Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy) stars in the action-packed military thriller from blockbuster filmmaker Michael Bay (Transformers).
The Last Ship chronicles a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world’s population. Because of its positioning, the Navy destroyer U.S.S. Nathan James avoided falling victim to the devastating tragedy. But now, Captain Tom Chandler (Dane) and his crew must confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they may be among the few remaining survivors.
As the second season opens, Chandler, his second-in-command XO Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and the rest of the crew are working to disseminate the cure that paleo-microbiologist Dr. Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra) developed at the end of the first season. But a new enemy surfaces in this high-impact drama.
In the U.S., The Last Ship was a blockbuster hit in its first season, not only among total viewers but also among key adult demos. The series ranked as basic cable’s No. 1 new series of 2014.
